I've been extremely busy over the past few months, family and work has kept my head low. I've had the greatest of pleasure of testing another handful of video games but with working stacking outside I have little time to manage the two or rather the 3 jobs I do. I am trying guys, I might do something I did in April, release a short review each week and give one damn good review at the end.
I'm working a stable job for around 4 years now that has been funding Land of Gamers as well as my video gaming hobby and whatever I do in my real life persona. I'm also the runner of the Garsfontein Fibre community here in Pretoria where I live, and the past few months have been a mad house because the area is going through some interesting changes, those changes be of a fibre nature. Something everyone reading this will envy me because my area has been green lit from both Telkom and Frogfoot.
Yes I run the "GFC" so that means I'm supporting Frogfoot and not the stingy Telkom that really just don't care, I know what you're thinking Telkom fan boys and trust me they shouldn't get more of my hard earned cash for the crap they make me put up with on their network. Besides, no contracts, once off install, open access, yes I can do whatever I want with my fibre connection. At the same time as a gamer I'm looking at supporting another ISP again for another long spill. Just like what happened with Mweb/Gamezone, that was indeed fun but now its time for some tier 1 internet connectivity.
So as a gamer I'm looking at the cheapest, most reliable and friendly bunch of ISP's that offer connections on the fibre network of Frogfoot. I've already made my executive decision, my ISP once fibre from Frogfoot has been deployed will be Iconnect Telecoms. I think they'll be able to change the way ISP's do business with their home users, I mean when you're on a tier 1 network/technology you'd expect tier 1 service for what you need to get. These guys really take the cake, friendly staff and always want to help, they might take a few to get in touch with you but its well worth the wait.
I'm not going to start kissing butt until I've got my fibre connection but honestly I've met the guys behind the scene at Iconnect and they are really wanting to work with you. So I'd suggest you lot reading this to give them a try or give them some pointers, Yes guys I have spoken to them regarding their Dota 2 servers, they're working on it I promise. They don't have much of a video gaming department but they are new to the FTTH industry, they have been around since 2010 or so, they have provided mainly for business until now so be patient.
So, back to RL, I'll cook something up guys, don't worry.
I also on a last note lost someone very close to me last year so that's mainly one of the reasons why things have been slow. My dad passed away last year July, so its tough not seeing him anymore. Working through it... Cheers
